Pastor's Retreat

Pastor's Retreat

DATE: September 12-September 14, 2017
CHECK IN: 5:00 - 6:00PM
RATE: $110

The death of John the Baptist was a blow to Jesus and his disciples. Jesus gathered his disciples together and said to them, “Come away to a deserted place and rest a while.” There are times when we need to get away to a lonely place and rest and be renewed. The Presbytery is sponsoring a Pastor’s Retreat for those in the Presbytery who are providing pastoral services. This will take place from Tuesday September 12th to Thursday September 14th at Tall Timber. The facilitating team will be Joseph Roy PhD, and his wife Merry. Joseph is a Pastoral Counselor and Spiritual Director; Merry is an educator, and they are both retired. Their focus will be developing and reinforcing skills and practices that can feed one's spirit and help keep a cutting edge to ministry. The cost is $110, and will begin on Tuesday September 12th, concluding on Thursday September 14th. The retreat will begin with the 6PM dinner on Tuesday, and conclude with the 12:00 Lunch on Thursday. Plan on arriving no later than 5:00 PM so you can be settled in before the evening meal. More specific information will be available to registrants as we get nearer the date of the retreat.

If you love the charm and beauty of Tall Timber in the summer, just wait until you see it transformed by the magic of winter!

There will be plenty to do outside in the snow, after which you can warm up by a crackling fire with hot drinks at our scenic lodge. Our talented chef is also planning some festive and hearty meals. Trust us when we say you won’t want to miss this fun winter event!

We’ve planned a daily devotion and some optional evening activities (New Year’s Eve party, anyone?). The rest of what happens is up to you! Tall Timber XC skis, snowshoes, and tube hill will be available. Head down to Leavenworth or up to Stevens Pass for some down hill skiing. Relax by the fire and read or play games. The time is yours to do as little or as much as you would like.

Arrival time is 5pm on December 30. A hearty dinner buffet of hot soups, fresh baked bread, and salad bar with assorted desserts will be available from 7-8pm.

Registration Opens later this year.
