Thursday brought back the usual morning routine of separate adult and children study sessions, but not to worry, the families were reunited in the afternoon as they set off to conquer the ropes course, shoot straight at archery and drum to their hearts content at the drum circle. After a lovely dinner and an evening campfire, everyone lay their sweet heads down to rest for the excitement to come tomorrow.
Friday, the day everyone had been waiting for, feet were tapping, fingernails were being bitten down, but not to worry everyone because the day has finally arrived!! BRUNCH. And not only brunch mind you for everyone not only also got one last chance on the zip line but also 4:00pm rolled around and out came the HIGHLAND GAMES. Cabers were tossed, stones were putted, arrows reached their bulls-eyes, hammers were flying through the air, and the sheep... were really just all over the place! Water balloons were launched hundreds of feet and everyone toasted after a hectic root-beer chug and all were ready for what came next, the traditional Scottish Robert Burns dinner, and Skit Night!
Today, Saturday, the fantastical fun filled frenzy of family camp regrettably came to an end, memories were remembered, words were said, tears held back as the beautiful families that so lovingly enjoyed the week said their goodbyes, to each other, to the staff, and to the breath taking view of the mountains. Farewell loyal families, until next time.
Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. -Psalm 100:3
