Today was the perfect busy end to a perfectly busy week here at camp. Campers capped off their time with some final morning sessions before lunch and an afternoon of non stop activities. Things got started with a campwide water fight before cabins split up to work on skits for skit night. After some work time everyone gathered up for the luau. Then it was over to the A-Frame for skit night which was followed by a dance party before final campfire.
What a day at Tall Timber, filled with smiles, laughs and new friendships! It was Beach Day here at camp which meant that following the regular morning activities and lunch everyone piled into the camp vans to catch some waves at Lake Wenatchee. Campers spent the afternoon splashing in the cool water and taking in the slight change of scenery provided by the incredible view at the state park. Afterward, everyone got back safe and sound in time for dinner followed by experiential worship.
With the week halfway over camp shows no signs of slowing down! After breakfast, campers had morning session followed by afternoon options later in the day. In the heat of the day, the giant waterslide was a huge hit, serving as a quick way to cool off. This evening it was time for a dinner by the river as everyone made "Hobo Stews" and cooked them over fires they built before finishing another long day with campfire.
This morning campers had the opportunity to participate in a handful of different activities, honing their skills in everything from soccer to dance. As the day progressed kids had their first taste of afternoon options at Junior High Camp, getting to climb on the Junkyard and rock wall, walk the Catwalk, and practice bookbinding at crafts. As things cooled down in the evening campers stayed plenty sweaty, chasing each other around camp in a camp-wide game of capture the flag. To top it all off one of our dearest staffers, Nathan Franklin, celebrated his 20th birthday, we hope it was a good one!
A new crew of campers rolled into Tall Timber this afternoon, ready to make friends and grow together in God's awesome wilderness. After some icebreakers, everyone got a tour of camp before heading to the lodge for cheesy buns, a Tall Timber classic. Then it was off to A-Frame for worship, introductions, and staff skit night. As the sun set over the White River valley, campers gathered 'round the campfire for songs and a message from this week's speaker, Andrew Fleishman.
